E-readers are one of those things that we never knew we wanted. You can never really replace the look, feel and smell of a proper book, but the ability to have thousands of them all in one place, easy to buy and download, take on holiday and conveniently whip out on a train has made converts of us all. Here at Techscheme, we’ve decided to take a look at some of the best e-readers available at one of our partners – Currys. Buying through Techscheme will save you up to 12% on the price there including anything on sale. Meaning you can save even more.

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 3G

The Amazon Kindle name is the biggest in the world of e-readers, and for good reason. Everything about the Paperwhite 3G is designed to make reading easier. From the effortless Wi-Fi and free 3G that lets you connect and download new books wherever you are to the new 300PPI (pixels per inch) screen that makes words on screen look as good as they would in print.

The screen prevents glare, so reading in the sun is not a problem, and a number of cute features like the Time-to-Read function (which tell you how long a book or chapter will take to read), the Translate function or the easy note-making and sharing functions make it this one of the best e-readers on the market.

Kobo Aura One

One of the biggest selling points of the Kobo Aura One is that it’s waterproof inside and out, which means all your downloaded books are safe from coffee spills and beach-based mishaps alike. It has a large 7.8-inch screen and fully customisable font sharpness, weight, size and style to make reading the way you want to simple. ComfortLight Pro technology reacts to the worlds around you to make reading easier and reduces blue-light exposure in the evening to reduce the impact on sleep.
Built-in OverDrive also make it super easy to set up, log in and borrow books with your library card.

Amazon Kindle Touch

The Kindle touch is one of the cheaper e-readers on the market and with its great Kindle features that makes it one of the most appealing. It doesn’t have all the frills of their more expensive models, as you’d expect, but it’s light and slim for easy carrying, it’s anti-glare, the E-ink touchscreen makes for easy reading with customisable fonts and the battery lasts up to 4 weeks so you’ll rarely find yourself without your library. At the most basic level - there’s nothing else you need.

Amazon Kindle Voyage

Lastly, the Kindle Voyage. It’s an e-reader designed to be as little hassle as possible. For a start, it’s the thinnest Kindle ever at just 7.6mm and the redesigned flush glass screen and magnesium rear all go into making it both stylish and easy to cart around or hold in the hand. Beyond the high-definition 300PPI screen makes fonts crisp and clear for reading.

Perhaps the coolest aspect of the Voyage, though, is the Page-Turner tech with lets you flip a page without having to lift a finger. Just apply a small amount of pressure to the case for an instant page turn. That might sound lazy but when you’re curling up with a good book we think it’s alright that you treat yourself.

That’s our list of some the best e-readers available at Currys, that you can get through Techscheme. We aim to save you money on the best tech with our employee benefits scheme. All you need to do is make sure that your employer is signed up, then once your order is approved you can enjoy savings of up to 12% on the best tech, and that includes Currys sales prices.
