The new Huawei P30 range has been unveiled. If you’re a fan of Huawei or you’re interested in picking up one of the best new Android smartphones, there’s a lot here for you to get excited about here. We’ll be covering everything there is to know about Huawei’s new flagship range here.
At the end, we’ll show the prices for each of the new P30 handsets and we will also show how you can save up to 12% on a new Huawei P30 through Techscheme.
The Huawei P30 available at three distinct price points
To appeal to all budgets, Huawei has launched three different P30 devices, like usual. Their new devices include the Huawei P30, P30 Lite, and P30 Pro.
For now, it seems the two choices available in the UK are the P30 and P30 Pro, so we'll focus on those two. Starting with the P30, we have an almost edge-to-edge display that fits in 6.1 inch of pure awesomeness. The colour is excellent and the resolution is an impressive 1080x2340.
Huawei has gone for a simple teardrop notch style design for the camera cutout, which is one of the most minimal options on the market. On the inside, you get 8GB RAM, a new Kirin 980 chipset, a 3650mAh battery, and 128GB of internal storage. Both the P30 and P30 Pro also have in-display fingerprint sensors.
You also get a triple camera setup on the back with a 40 megapixel sensor as the main star. We'll talk more about that later. All of this is available for £699, or even less through Techscheme.
Take a step up to the £899 P30 Pro and you get the same display technology in a larger 6.47 inch display. The display curves around the edges like the popular Samsung Galaxy S10 display
, and excitingly, there's no earpiece. The display itself acts as the earpiece, allowing vibrations to pass through the screen. It's an incredible advancement that has almost gone unnoticed, but a big step toward a fully bezel-free device. On top of the display enhancements, you get an extra camera sensor on the back and a 4,200 mAh battery, too.
The biggest improvements on the P30 Pro are found in the camera technology. We’ll talk all about the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro cameras below.
Huawei’s P30 range is perfect for photography lovers
If Huawei cemented themselves as the camera kings in 2018, they proved just how strong that cement is in 2019. Their new P30 range has the best camera setup we’ve seen so far. There’s a lot that makes the P30 cameras excellent.
Regardless of whether you get the P30 or P30 Pro, Huawei’s camera AI makes it possible to get incredible night shots, great colours and high quality results in all lighting environments simply by pointing and shooting. Google made it clear how important camera AI is with their first Google Pixel, but Huawei has really taken it further in terms of raw results and general functionality.
There is a lot of hardware that goes into making these cameras great, too. First, both the P30 and P30 Pro get a 40 megapixel primary wide angle lens for capturing the highest quality shots. The P30 also has a 16 megapixel ultrawide for more empowering landscape images or for big group photos. The P30 has another 8 megapixel telephoto lens with an impressive 3x optical zoom for long ranged shots.
On the P30 Pro, you get an upgraded 20 megapixel wide angle lens to accompany the 40 megapixel primary lens, as well as a more powerful telephoto lens and a fourth TOF 3D camera. On the front, both have a ridiculous 32 megapixel selfie camera. Pair that with Huawei's incredible AI camera chip and selfie images have never been better.
Summary and pricing
What’s great about the new Huawei range is that even the P30 is a device well deserving of the flagship title. The P30 Pro is just that much more sleeker and the camera is somewhat more powerful. It’s up to you which one you go for, but each option can be had for up to 12% less through Techscheme. Find out the pricing below.
