Here is a look at everything new with the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. You don’t want to miss this.

And to make the deal sweeter, we’ve got an opportunity for you to get your hands on the new Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL for 12% off retail price.

Google Pixel 3 Overview - What’s Changed?

The Google Pixel 2 and 2 XL were critically acclaimed smartphones. Both smartphones were appreciated for their extremely high quality camera, fluid stock Android experience, and a range of AI-based software features.

Both devices set a very high bar for the future of the Pixel range, so how do the successors compare? Do they reach that same level? Let’s take a look.

Google Pixel 3 Camera - First Impressions

The camera is one of the biggest selling points for the Pixel 2 range, so let’s start there. First impressions would tell us that despite the Pixel 3 range sharing the same sensors and 12 megapixel primary snapper, there have been some significant improvements.

It all comes down to how Google ties software into their camera experience. The Pixel 3 and 3 XL have had a significant improvement in this area thanks to new tweaks and features like Super Res Zoom and HDR+ raw images.

With Super Res Zoom, you get a new software technique that combines multiple shots to give more detail and higher quality images when you use the digital zoom feature.

Raw images are improved on the Pixel 3, too, which is great news for those that like to edit their photos outside of the camera app.

Another feature called Top Shot will automatically suggest the best result out of a group of photos, so you don’t have to do the guessing work yourself.

All Major Google Pixel 3 Changes Explained

There have been many other changes with the Pixel 3 range. Perhaps the most noticeable is the new physical design on the Pixel 3 XL.

The Pixel 3 XL has a notch, and it’s pretty large. Some people have voiced their concerns about it, but it should be noted that this notch gives the display 6.3 inches of space instead of 6 inches, and the Pixel 3 XL still shares the same size footprint of the Pixel 2 XL.

If you don’t like it, you can also switch it off and have the same 6 inch display you may be used to on the Pixel 2.

What's even more impressive is the standard Google Pixel. The Pixel 3 has a 5.5 inch display, whilst the Pixel 2 has 5 inches. Despite the increase in display size, the Pixel 3 also shares almost exactly the same build dimensions as the Pixel 2.

Under the hood, small improvements have been made across the board.

You will still get 4GB RAM, but the new Pixel devices use the more powerful Snapdragon 845 processor. The battery capacity is almost the same, but battery life should be improved regardless, thanks to new optimizations.

Finally, with the Google Pixel 3 comes Android 9.0 Pie. This update brings many more AI based features for using your device.

The idea is that your device will learn your usage patterns so that you have to scroll less to find the apps you want, wait less time to open your favourite apps and use less battery because the AI will learn which apps to restrict based on your usage.

The older Pixel 2 devices will also be getting Android 9 Pie.
