You don’t have to break the bank to get the right mobile for you. Here at Techscheme, we've decided to put together a little list of the best budget mobiles of the last few years available through our partners at Apple and Currys PC World. Whichever budget mobile is best for you, buying it through Techscheme means you’ll save up to 12% on the listed price and be able to spread the cost over up to three years.

Apple iPhone SE

The iPhone SE was Apple’s response to the increasing size of modern smartphones, a powerful mobile built into a trusty 4-inch handset reminiscent of the old iPhone 5. The SE may be a couple of years old now but it deserves its place on this list thanks to its size, efficiency and functional design. For a start, it’s no slouch. Running iOS 10 off the powerful A9 chip, making gaming or running multiple tabs a breeze.

Beyond that, its Retina display is excellent, it shoots 4K video and takes great pictures with its 12MP camera. It’s a great mobile from the top end of our budget price range, perfect for those looking for a top smartphone but don’t need all the bells and whistles of the flagships.

Moto X4

Moto phones have a reputation for being great at lower prices and they’ve pulled out all the stops for the Moto X4. Running Android Nougat on a 2.2GHz octa-core processor the X4 is one of the most powerful mobiles in its price range. There’s a fantastic 16MP front camera that lets you record in 4K and a huge 2TB expandable memory that’ll never leave you scrabbling for storage space.

Samsung Galaxy J3

The Galaxy J3 is a wonderful mobile for those in need of solid smartphone power for less than £200. It’s easy to use and the 5-inch HD display is clear with bright colours. The J3 runs Android Nougat from a 1.4GHz octa-core processor which is more than enough to run modern games and keep open a ton of tabs for work or research purposes. It also has a solid 13MP rear camera with 5MP front-facing selfie cam, which as you would expect from Samsung, perform with excellence.

Nokia 3310 3G

Lastly, we’ll go to the revamped old-reliable – the Nokia 3310 3G. Love for the old 3310 has basically reached cult status. The uber-durable mobile is a throwback to a bygone age when phones were phones and this is the perfect mobile for people who want to disconnect a little bit from the constant willpower assault of social media and mobile gaming.

It's got long-lasting battery life, an MP3 player and built-in FM Radio alongside a small but functional 2MP camera for taking quick pics. It also blends the old with the new, with a revamped colour interface and 3G web-browsing nestled lovingly next to retro-classic gaming favourites like Snake. All that and it’ll cost you less than £60.
