It was a big night for Samsung last night. Not only did they just announce a packed lineup of four S10 devices, but they also unveiled their Samsung Fold, a new foldable device that they teased back in 2018. Here is a look at all of the new devices, when you can get them, and how much they will cost.

The New Samsung Galaxy S10 range

Samsung announce their Galaxy S10

Like previous years, a new Samsung Galaxy S10 and larger S10+ were announced during Samsung’s Unpacked event. However, alongside it was an even larger 5G version and a smaller ‘S10e’ variant.

Each smartphone in the new S10 range has similar performance and internal hardware, but there are key differences across the board. First, let’s take a look at what’s the same throughout.

The S10 and S10+ have 8GB RAM, the S10e has 6GB RAM.  All four models feature the Exynos 9820 Octa chipset, Samsung's latest mobile powerhouse. This approach from Samsung means that no matter what price point you enter at, you aren’t being downgraded unfairly.

The S10 and S10+ also have the unique Samsung Infinity-O display. With this, the entire display is edge to edge, with a small 'o' shaped hole cut out in the top right corner for the front facing camera. Speaking of cameras, each model has at least a 12 megapixel wide camera, a 16 megapixel ultra wide, and a 10 megapixel front facing Dual Pixel camera.

Take a step up from the S10e to the S10 and you get an additional 12 megapixel telephoto sensor on the back. The S10+ has the same as the S10, plus an extra 8 megapixel depth sensor on the front.

The S10 5G then has a fourth back camera. This is a 3D depth camera for providing more realistic depth to photos, better blur and bokeh effects, and improved augmented reality experiences.

All of the displays found throughout the S10 range are stunning. The S10e is the smallest, at 5.8 inches and a resolution of 1080x2280. Next, the Samsung S10 has a 6.1 inch display. The S10+ has 6.4, and the S10 5G has a massive 6.7 inches. All of the latter three displays have a resolution of 1440x3040. Samsung have always made stunning and colourful Android displays, and this time around they have support for HDR10 for even more stunning colour.

The S10e has a fingerprint sensor on the side, but the other three have a fingerprint sensor under the display. All smartphones also have secure voice unlock via Bixby. Samsung has also taken a turn to new territory with a cleaner interface called One UI. Overall, it’s safe to say everything has been given a major overhaul this year.

Samsung Galaxy Fold takes a bold new approach

Samsung's brand-new foldable phone, the Galaxy Fold

Next up, we have the Samsung Galaxy Fold. It's an absolute beast and it won't come cheap. We're not yet sure on the exact pricing or UK release, but here's a look at the specifications.

The Galaxy Fold, when folded out, has a 7.3 inch 1536x2152 resolution display. When folded up, you'll have a secondary 4.6 inch display light up. This display can still be used just like a typical Android device at this point. The Galaxy Fold also comes with 12GB Ram, a Snapdragon 855, and 512GB storage. With these specifications, it's clear that this option is for those that want the very latest, greatest tech.

The Fold also uses a new software technique called app continuity. With this, apps will seamlessly transition between displays. This means you can browse something on the small display, unfold it, and everything will be exactly where you left it on the larger display. For the first time, three apps can be used at once on the Galaxy Fold, making it a multitasking machine.
