MacBook Pro 2018: Design and Display
There’s actually not much to say on the design front when it comes to the MacBook Pro 2018. Pretty much identical to the 2017 models, Apple has decided not to mess with a winning formula – when something works, it works.
It’s a similar story with the display, with no large-scale upgrades to the screen, there is one big new feature though. True Tone display technology makes its way to the MacBook Pro for the first time, although fans of an Apple ecosystem may know it from the iPad Pro, iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.
True Tone is capable of sensing and analysing the light conditions of your environment and adjust the display accordingly. This means that wherever you’re using your new MacBook Pro, you’ll get the best picture quality possible.
MacBook Pro 2018: Hardware
It’s under the hood of the MacBook Pro 2018 that Apple has made the most changes. Upgraders will see an incredible boost in performance of up to 70% over the MacBook Pro 2017 thanks to the widescale improvements and upgrades on the hardware inside.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro 2018 sees 8th generation quad-core Intel Core i5 – i7 processors up to 2.7GHz with a Turbo Boost of up to 4.5GHz. You’ll also see an upgrade on the integrated graphics card, with the 13-inch Pro now host to the Iris Plus 655 with 128GB of eDRAM.
The 15-inch MacBook Pro 2018 has also received processor upgrades from the 8th generation of Intel’s Core line. 6-core i7 and i9 processors are available pumping out up to 2.9GHz of pure power, while Turbo Boost will see that rise to 4.8GHz. There’s also up to 32Gb of memory and Radeon Pro discreet graphics with 4GB memory, perfect for more intensive users.

As ever deciding on whether to go big or small on the MacBook Pro will come down to your needs. Those of you often travel with your MacBook, needing it for work or anything else might find the 13-inch you best bet, unless your requirements are particularly hardware intensive.
The 15-inch MacBook Pro 2018 is basically a must-have for any Mac-based gamers or creative professionals. Radeon Pro graphics and a whopping 32GB of RAM alongside the processor upgrades make animation, video and picture editing and a whole host of other tasks as quickly as they can be done right now.
It's up to you but there is a nice range of features and price points so that you can tailor to your needs. We'll cover the highest and lowest price of each model in the table below for you.
