We have picked out the most affordable smartphones for Christmas 2019. The options we have selected are excellent, affordable choices that still offer a premium experience.
Truthfully, these days you don’t need to pay flagship prices to get a good display, good performance, or premium smartphone designs. If you’ve often gone for the most expensive option in the past, the power of mid range smartphones in 2019 will surprise you.
To make things even more affordable this Christmas, you can also save up to 12% on these smartphones when purchasing them through Techscheme. Take a closer look at each option and how much you can save below.

Samsung Galaxy A10 32GB - £139.99 RRP

Samsung Galaxy A10 32GB
We will start with the Samsung Galaxy A10. A very affordable smartphone from Samsung that offers a larger HD display, a decent camera and selfie snapper, as well as an impressive battery life. With the Samsung Galaxy A10, you get Android 9 Pie and Samsung's own UX out of the box, and that includes Google and Assistant and Bixby control. The display is 6.2 inches, perfect for those craving a larger screen.
The resolution of this display is 1520x720, so whilst not super HD, it is still high definition. The color accuracy falls flat in comparison to other Samsung displays, but it's a reasonable price to pay to have such an affordable smartphone. The specifications include the Exynos 7884 processor, 2GB RAM, and 32GB internal storage. you also get a dual 13 megapixel main camera and a 5 megapixel camera that sits in the screen with a small water drop style notch. The battery life is great too, thanks to the 3,400 mAh battery.

Motorola G7 Power 64GB - £159.99 RRP

Up next we have the Motorola G7 Power, a slight step up from the Samsung Galaxy A10 in a number of areas. Let’s run you through what makes this 2019 Motorola handset tick.
The Motorola G7 Power has a similar set of specs to the Samsung Galaxy A10. For example, you get a 6.2 inch display with a 720x1570 resolution. There's even a cutout in the display for a camera, although larger this time. Things start to get a little different on the inside, though. You get a Snapdragon 632 processor, 64GB storage, and 4GB RAM, which gives the G7 Power quite a bit more, well, power. This isn't the only power up this handset has over the A10, either. You also get a huge 5,000mAh battery, which means the battery life is very impressive. It's a worthwhile upgrade from the A10 if you can afford it and don't mind losing the Samsung UX for a more stripped back version of Android 9.0 out of the box.
The camera is an area that gets cut back on to reach this price, though. You get a single 12 megapixel camera, although the selfie snapper has an 8 megapixel resolution.

Huawei P30 Lite 128GB - £279

At this price point, things leave the realm of cheap but it’s still far more affordable than a new flagship from Huawei or any other manufacturer for that matter. The jump to £279 also gives you a good selection of upgraded features over the other handsets shown so far.
The first point to touch on is the display, which is far better. The Huawei P30 Lite display has a full HD+ 2310x1080 resolution and a size of 6.15 inches. The quality in comparison to the Moto G7 Power and Samsung Galaxy A10 is immediately noticeable. Besides that, you also get a triple camera setup on the Huawei P30 Lite. An incredible 48 megapixel camera is flanked by another 8 megapixel ultrawide angle and a 2 megapixel depth sensor. You also get Huawei's excellent camera software which has helped Huawei to reach the top spot in camera tests on smartphones like the Huawei Mate 30 Pro and Huawei P30 Pro.
The display isn't quite as stunning as those aforementioned handsets in terms of colour or resolution, and the camera hardware isn't quite as fancy, but it's certainly close. You do get Huawei's Kirin 710 processor, too, along with 4GB RAM, which is more than enough for the majority of tasks. The only thing you’d want a more powerful setup for would be for 3D gaming performance or multitasking between three or more resource intensive apps.
