Mobile phones today have a lot of different uses; the one that you can’t skimp on, though, is the camera. A poor-quality snapper will be apparent to anyone you make sit through your holiday pics and it’ll be the biggest barrier to cultivating an army of Instagram followers. We here at Techscheme want to help you out, so we’ve put together a list of the smartphones with the best cameras, all available from our partners at Apple and Currys PC World. Remember that buying through Techscheme means you could save up to 12% on the cost of your device and spread that cost over up to three years.
iPhone X

The iPhone X has made a lot of headlines thanks to its radical re-design, but not enough of those have mentioned the camera. Because, well, a good camera is sort of what you expect from Apple isn't it? But the dual 12MP main camera and 7MP front camera on the iPhone X are the best we've ever seen on an Apple device.
It's got everything you'd expect from a great camera, with OIS (optical image stabilisation), phase detection and a f/1.8 and f/2.4 rear camera aperture – but it's in practice that you discover how well that all works. The selfie-cam at the front takes clear and detail pictures of your face and give you the ability to blur the background while the front facing dual sensors create vivid images with warm natural colours. Coupled with the iPhone X's new OLED screen, your snaps will look great both on the phone and on social media.
Samsung Galaxy S9+

The newest phone on this list is Samsung’s latest flagship, the Galaxy S9+. It sports dual 12MP rear cameras with an excellent 8MP front-facing camera. It boasts an aperture range from f/1.5 to f/2.4 with Live Focus, Dual Capture and dual OIS just some of the impressive tech behind the impressive snapper. Those rear lenses are designed to take great pictures in even super-low-light conditions so no matter where you are you’ll get high-quality images at the click of a button.
Pixel 2

The Pixel 2 (and 2Xl) take a slightly different approach to taking great pictures. It's got great hardware, in its 12.2MP rear and 8MP front cameras as well as the f/1.8 aperture, OIS and phase detection and laser autofocus. But it's the software processing that really makes the pictures on the Pixel 2 stand out.
The software stitches together multiple images taken with a single lens to bring even a poorly taken photograph up to a high standard. Both cameras, even with just a single lens can take stunning pictures with serious detail but the selfie cam may well be the best on the market right now. We suppose if you call something ‘Pixel’ you must deliver.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8

With the Galaxy Note 8 Samsung continues their tradition of delivering seriously high-quality cameras in their smartphones. An 8MP front camera and dual 12MP rear camera operating with OIS, phase detection and an f/1.7-f/2.4 apertures deliver clear and crisp images time after time.
It makes taking pictures a quick and effortless process and Samsung's brilliant display technology makes enjoying them a simple task. There are a ton of different modes and setting to play within its camera app making a great option for both serial snappers and those who want to really go in-depth with their picture taking.
Huawei Mate 10 Pro

Huawei stormed into the mobile market a few years ago and instantly become one of the best manufacturers in town. The build quality of their camera set-up matches that reputation with ease. The front 8MP camera is excellent but it’s the dual 12MP and 20MP rear camera that shines brightest.
Phase detection and laser autofocus, OIS and f/1.6 apertures on both lenses working with both monochrome and colour sensors make the Mate 10 Pro great for those looking to take more professional photos. Taking out the camera for a quick pic in standard light isn't really what this camera is designed for, the images are good, but you’ll find better on this list. But for low-light and rich images this camera seriously rewards those looking to learn its features.
